At the M.B.C. School
of Karate our classes are structured in a
traditional manner. Students are taught Kata
(pre-arranged forms), sparring, self-defense, body
conditioning and two-man drills. Our school emphasis
is toward street applications. However, the
traditional aspects of Karate are also taught, such
as self-confidence, respect, and physical fitness.
Master Harold
Nuchols, Hachi-Dan (8th degree Black
Belt), is the head instructor of M.B.C. School of
Karate.
Our dojo’s location
is at Cades Cove Baptist Fellowship. Which is
located at 2342 Duncan Rd. Maryville, TN 37803.
Class times:
Monday
nights at 6:30pm-9:00pm
Thursday nights at
6:30pm-8:30pm
Cost
of instruction:
Free
Students are
responsible for cost of personal safety equipment
and all other required equipment.
We do ask that
students must be no younger than 13 years of age. This is due to the physical demands and content of
instruction.
No prior martial
arts experience is required and visitors are welcome
to observe classes. We do ask that you be polite,
courteous and not disrupt classes. An instructor
will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Master Harold Nuchols is the head instructor of
M.B.C. School of Karate. He holds the rank of Hachi-Dan
(8th Degree Black Belt). He started Isshin-ryu Karate in 1961 under Master Harold Long. He received his Sho-Dan (1st Degree Black
Belt) in August 1962. He has over 40 years teaching
experience.
Stephen Nuchols is an assistant instructor and
he holds the rank of San-Dan (3rd degree)
in Isshin-ryu Karate. He is currently studying
Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. He has 16 years martial arts
experience.
Andy Welshan is an assistant instructor and
holds the rank of Ni-Dan (2nd degree) in
Isshin-ryu Karate. He also holds the rank of San-Dan
(3rd degree) in Aikido, and is an
assistant instructor at the Knoxville Aikido Dojo
(www.knoxvilleaikido.com
). He has over 20 years
martial arts experience.
Risa
Deatherage
is an assistant instructor and she holds the rank of
Ni-Dan (2nd degree) in Isshin-ryu Karate. She has 17 years martial arts experience.
